INTERNaction is a Community.
INTERNaction is a growing community of students all sharing the same goal: to make it easier for fellow students to connect with local human rights organisations and get first-hand practical experience. We believe that students are the next generation of lawyers, advocates, legal experts, jurists, entrepreneurs and leaders that can make a change in the world.
We also believe that connection is everything nowadays. Change is only possible if various layers of society collaborate together to find solutions to human rights issues - it is not just a legal issue, on the contrary, effective human rights enforcement requires lawyers, psychologists, economists, sociologists, entrepreneurs, politicians etc. With this in mind, INTERNaction wants to nourish these connections between like-minded students and make sure that they will always be able to come together and collaborate for change in the future. This is why, the founders of INTERNaction will be establishing a networking platform gathering all IA members and alumni: this way, the future change-makers are always in touch and have access to each other in many years from now.
And that change is already happening: there are so many human rights organisations that are bringing upon tremendous progress locally and are influencing the policy-drafting in order to ensure human rights protection. Books don't show this side of human rights. Students need to see themselves how they can use the knowledge acquired during their studies to protect human rights. And this can happen only through internships at these change-making human rights organisations! This is who We are, at INTERNaction: students working for students, to build a network of like-minded people and organisations in the advocacy for human rights.
